Several years ago, a British market research firm estimated that one in four children speak brand names as their first recognizable words. While it's doubtful that there's very much advertising out there geared directly toward children less than one year of age, the finding is indicative how the developing mind of a child reacts in a brand-saturated world.

Internet giant Yahoo and was under ethical fire yesterday in Congress’s House Foreign Affairs Committee. Members of the committee met with Yahoo’s chief executive Jerry Yang who was testifying on Yahoo’s handling of an incident in China that led to the incarceration of a dissident.

NBC has announced it will devote its November sweeps week to environmentally themed programing. Beginning Nov. 4th, shows in NBC's primetime lineup will have inexplicable subplots involving vision quests and replacing light bulbs.

Al Gore's Current TV has relaunched its website in an effort to integrate its revolutionary television concept with the YouTube model for Internet video sharing. Now an Internet video archive will mirror what is shown on television, with users able to create responses minutes after they see a clip, and Current able to broadcast those responses minutes after they're posted.
